Dr. Angelo Farooq

Angelo is a former Chair of the National Association of State Workforce Boards & the California Workforce Development Board. He serves as the Co-Chair of California Treasurer Fiona Ma’s Housing, Economic Development, Job Creation & Opportunity Zone Advisory Committee, shaping investment policies designed to stimulate economic growth in underserved communities. He was previously elected to the Riverside School Board for two terms, governing 50 public schools. Angelo serves as Co-Chair of the Workforce of the Future Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Bay Area Council. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association for Los Angeles/Ventura/San Bernardino regional chapters. Angelo co-founded and co-taught on campus at Stanford University the 2025 Stanford Continuing Studies summer course: BUS 185: “Real Estate Investment Business: Strategy, Policy, and Development.” Angelo holds a Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, as well as an Executive Master of Leadership and Doctorate of Policy, Planning & Development from the University of Southern California.
