Breaking Barriers
To Employment
The Breaking Barriers to Employment program strengthens California’s workforce system by providing training and supportive services that help people overcome barriers to employment and successfully enter the workforce. Training and supportive services are provided through strong partnerships with community groups, non-profits, and mission-driven organizations with track records of success.
In 2017, Assembly Bill 1111 helped launch the Breaking Barriers to Employment program. A year later, Senate Bill 856 added more funding, followed by another boost from SB 129 three years after that. Today, the Foundation for California Community Colleges manages the program with our support.
