CalFresh Employment and Training Partnership
The WIOA state plan provides the framework and direction for day-to-day operations of WIOA-funded programs and exhibits a vision for partnership and collaboration with non-WIOA programs that provide relevant programming and services, such as SNAP E&T. To further outline this strategy, several state level partnership agreements were developed with the input and buy-in of partner programs. With the implementation of the WIOA, it became evident to the State Workforce Board that additional state level partnerships, such as the SNAP E&T program overseen by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), would support local and regional WIOA implementation activities. As part of the State Plan amendment process, the State Board and CDSS agreed to work together to ensure that SNAP E&T participants have access to the workforce development system with the opportunity to enter in and complete career pathway programs.
