Prior to working for the CWDB Teela worked for the nonprofit Child Abuse Prevent Council. She saw the challenges that families go through and how employment challenges affect parenting. The stress of not having work or adequate pay to provide for your family can cause unwanted outcomes including neglect or child abuse. The initiatives the CWDB is working on getting in front of those unwanted outcomes by helping companies create programs to train and provide employment with living wages. The past 15 years of work experience have provided her with many skills that she finds useful in my role as a Program Analyst. The skill I find the most helpful is problem-solving. Teela loves puzzles and brainstorming solutions. Outside of work, she can be found spending time with loved ones, reading, writing, or doing anything crafty.
