Nick Esquivel

High Road Field Specialist

Nick joined CWDB in October 2021 as a High Road Field Specialist, focusing on climate-impacted industries. Nick comes to us from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) where he was the lead grant administrator responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of over $80 million in California Apprenticeship Initiative, Federal Perkins, Prop. 39 Clean Energy Workforce, and Economic and Workforce Development programs. He was the lead program manager overseeing all aspects of Related and Supplemental Instruction (RSI) (in-class instruction) for California’s 90,990 state registered apprentices which included working with over 30 Community College Districts and K-12 Local Educational Agencies. He played an active role working with employers to expand Career Technical Education, workforce development, and apprenticeship opportunities. Before working with the CCCCO, Nick worked with both the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and California Correctional Health Care Services. When he’s not working Nick enjoys fishing, working on his classic Chevy trucks, and spending time with his wife, two children, and three dogs.
